Two years have come and gone and Angel has more or less settled into her home on Toch Island where magic comes as easy as breathing. Things begin to get a little more complicated as Angel returns to her former Florida home looking for her foster brother, Zack. She’ll do anything for Zack even if it means enlisting the help from Melinda, an acquaintance she knew while living in the sunshine state. Can Angel really trust Melinda? What price will this rebellious girl demand of her? Once Melinda learns that Angel is there to rescue her foster brother, she insist on returning to Toch Island with them. Rebellious Melinda only makes the adventure more dangerous than it is as she aligns herself with the ex-con, Doran Ashe. The trouble in paradise only gets more compounded as Doran has his own designs set on a number of objects belonging to Sir Benjamin. Once a thief, always a thief, some would say.

This second book in the Toch Island Chronicles intensifies the magic that so easily flowed in the first book, Finding Angel. Ms Hechenbach has crafted a world as special as Narnia and will tingle the reader’s senses of having visited some place very special. Some readers may take exception to Melinda’s hardcore nature and rebellious spirit, but if one looks beyond those rantings, a young woman wanting to desperately belong is screaming for attention. This is a book and series the reader must look deep into; because the Truth lies deeper than the words printed on the page. Join Angel and all her friends in this second installment of a very magical world where the meaning of life is a reflection of our real world and beyond. Readers will certainly be entertained. Kat Hechenbach spins a tale that C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien would certainly endorse. The Toch Island Chronicles is a must read for anyone who loves fantasy. — Stefanie Longwood
